This dystopian transit system requires a tiki bar. Then it will be a utopian dream of chrome, steel, and rum.

Do not be afraid to go out on a limb, that’s where the fruit grows…. Anonymous

I ride the train to and from work. Caltrain. It’s the commuter service between San Jose and San Francisco. I love it. Huge big hulking carriages, big diesel locomotives, conductors that check tickets and announce the upcoming stations. It has a small problem that the track is not very isolated and crosses a lot of roads. This means that there a frequent deaths (20 fatalities in 2009). But despite the delays I enjoy my 35 minute ride between San Jose and San Carlos each day. To celebrate Caltrain, here is a picture of “my” carriage.

The black and white conversion was done in Photoshop using Nik Software’s “Silver Efex Pro”. I really like the Illford Delta 100 Pro film simulation. Yes, you can do B/W in the RAW tool, yes you can use the channel mixer but I love the look of the Silver Efex Pro’s film simulations.
