I only wear one colour of jeans. Black. Today’s picture is a celebration of that fact. Taken with the 105VR and converted into black and white with the Silver Efex Pro tools. Although this time the conversion setting uses the Agfa 100 pre-set, unlike the images to date that have all used the Illford 100 pre-set.

Mrs. Kaadian has tried over the years to get me to wear blue jeans. And we have bought them on a few occasions. But for some reason I will wear them once, maybe twice and then never wear them again. For some reason I feel uncomfortable in anything but black jeans.

Talking of things that are done by habit. I remember many, many years ago listening to a program on the BBC World Service where a psychologist who said that if you can train yourself to do something for 15 days in a row then you can make it part of your new habits (applies equal to not doing something). Today is the 15th successive day of publishing my “A Picture A Day” (APAD as per the tags).

Now I hesitate to make a declaration or a resolution as those also are shown to not work so well. But I will say that I will continue to post a picture a day for as long as I a) enjoy it and b) well that’s really what taking pictures for me is all about. Enjoying putting something on screen or print from something you saw or were inspired by.

I’ve already noticed a slight change in how I take pictures with my new regime. I used to take pictures of many subjects and often would only take one or 2 pictures of a given subject. But now when I have an idea of a picture for the blog I find myself taking more pictures, playing with exposure, cropping, aperture setting. All in an attempt to make that one picture look the best I can.
