IsaDora 705 Combat Khaki

by carinaeletoile

Clearly this combat shade of green was meant to be more a battle at the beach than actual warfare. It’s a hot hot shade of not quite sea foam green with a lovely undertone that keeps it edgy, yet feminine.

I have to say, I was surprised that this color looked halfway decent on me. Normally when shades like this come out, it looks like someone has stripped all the personality out of the color when I wear it. There is something about my skin tone that takes the prettiest of hues and tones, then just demolishes them so they resemble nothing, NOTHING like the color in the bottle.

I’m actually a little excited. In under a month I’ll be goin’ back to Cali, Cali…and I’ve packed away a few bottles of extra polish for a giveaway! In Tagalog, when you go away on trips you bring back something called pasalubong (please don’t try to pronounce it – unless you’re Filipino, of course!) – which is basically defined as a take home gift. I just say presents for you. I have some IsaDora and a couple of bottles of Face Stockholm polish, as well as some others…so stay tuned and keep an eye on here for when the giveaway will be.

I’m also excited because I ordered about 8 bottles of Cult Nails colors – I finally bit the bullet and purchased some. Sadly, I missed the discount because I’m 9 hours ahead. Curse you Central European Time! Curse you! But on the upside, I’ll have polishes waiting for me when I get home. YAY!!!

Anyway, this color is a great blend of sea foam green with a few hints of gray and dare I say maybe a bit of olive? It’s the only thing I can think of because normally sea foam green washes me out, making my skin look sallow and malnourished – though you’d be hard pressed to believe it when you see my ass in person.

Love this color! What do you think? Is Isadora Combat Khaki something you want/already have in your collection? I feel like this is something I’ve got in my Helmer back in Cali, but I am not quite sure.

This formula dried quickly and was a dream to work with. The occasional dents in my nail are…the fast drying top coat. I know I go on about it, sorry. Application of this color is also less than stellar because it’s on my right hand – I either do really well with applying color with my left hand or I do badly. This is one of those in between things – not bad, but not good, either.

Yes! Definitely – I am so craving Mexican food. I know I’ve only been gone for a little over a month, but Mexican food here isn’t the same.

  • Pretty! One month isn’t long at all. Maybe I could meet you and Claudia when you get back.

That would be *awesome*, PwP! I’ve been trying to take pictures here in Stockholm and for some reason it’s just not translating well from the images that I see. In person, the pictures are alive, like glowing and cool, you know? I take the pic and go home…and it’s the blandest, most boring tourist photo you will ever lay your eyes on. :( I’ve been so ashamed to post the pictures, but I may as well just do it, ya know?

      • I bet they aren’t as bland as you think! I would love to see your travel photos! From what I have seen online Stockholm is a really pretty place. Does Mr. Carinae have any photography tips?

I think you’re giving me far more credit than I deserve on that front. It’s like I took all the uniqueness out of the photo somehow. Mr Carinae doesn’t use a simple point and shoot the way I do. He’s all complicated. I’m easy going when it comes to my photos!
