Internal Clocks, Part II
Back in March of this year, I wrote about my internal clock that felt awry. I was complaining that in my heart, mind and feet, basically my body telling me it was time to move to a new state or country.Did I predict it or what? We’re doing a move to Sweden for six months, providing the biggest concerns of mine are taken care of – a) My husband’s status to apply for citizenship is not jeopardized and b) they take care of housing.
We’ll be living in Stockholm. It ain’t cheap. I know it’s not. Mr Carinae (aka @kaadian on Twitter) joked that I need to get used to Subway sandwiches and McDonald’s as a classy and fancy dinner. *cries*
I have a travel blog that I have to incorporate here. I started it when we moved to India. I do have other pieces and parts of my travels and I have to get it all together. Bleh. Another thing to add to my to do list. Never, all those years ago, when I was a starry eyed graduate from high school and then college, did I ever imagine I’d travel and live in places that people only read about or watch on tv. I’m lucky. I know I am. I don’t take it for granted.
On that note…the rest of this week will be dedicated to Swedish brand nail polishes – Makeup Store and Depend.

Ok, I can’t stop giggling every time I write about this Swedish nail polish brand called Depend. I’m childish. I’m immature. I’m juvenile. What can I say? I totally ‘fess up to my faults. I’m also a disorganized organized mess. My Helmers are disorganized right now. I need a third Helmer and I can see Mr Carinae rolling his eyes at me…Anyway, immaturity and disorganization aside, I really do need to stop laughing when I swatch these colors.

Makeup Store – Siw and Makeup Store v China Glaze 2Nite v China Glaze Kaleidoscope Him Out
Mr Carinae went to Sweden last week on business…and since I didn’t go, I asked him to get me some nail polish. I didn’t care if it was drugstore or high end. I wanted something nail polish from Sweden…and he did not disappoint!
This is my haul…and of the two of the ones in the middle, I swatched the one in the right, in the black box. It’s called Siw.
It’s totally gorgeous…and I was motivated to do a comparison. Can see it all behind the jump!

Chanel – Mimosa
I hate yellow nail polish. You know it. I know it. Yet I still purchase them. Why? I secretly live in hope that maybe, just maybe, one day a shade of yellow will be released where I don’t look jaundiced when wearing it. I have a terribly hard time finding a yellow like that. I have envy for the former Corazon Aquino, who chose yellow as her color to lead the Philippines into democracy…and the fact she could carry it off.I keep hearing that this particular shade from Chanel, Mimosa, which happens to be part of their summer 2011 collection, is sold out. I went to my Chanel counter and they had it! Woo hoo. It was meant to be. One of three colors for Chanel’s Flowers of Summer (Les Fleurs d’été), Mimosa is a shade I’m somewhat happy I chose…

I had to share this picture. If you don’t follow me on Facebook you have missed this gem. It was taken at my parents’ house. I had just made a late brunch – poached eggs, toast, bacon and pan fried potatoes. We were sitting at the couch watching a spot of telly. I put my plate down and felt like I was being watched…I was! All you see in the foreground is food…and then you see puppy spy. Such a cute little guy. He hates it when he can’t see food. LOL He hates it even more when you’re eating and he wants some. The joys of owning a dog like this – they’re perpetually hungry, but don’t fall for the big sad eyes.
He is freshly shaved, in anticipation for the summer! How adorable does he look? He almost looks puppy-ish again, but the big ole head is a dead giveaway.

Chanel Riva vs Revlon Blue Lagoon
I saw Blue Lagoon at my Walgreens and went, “Ohh…I can do a comparison to Riva!” and they have some shocking similarities. They’re both shockingly shitty with application. There I said it. I blasphemed the La Maison de Chanel. Revlon – eh. Like they care.Despite the craptastic application, they’re both pretty colors.
