Zoya – Nova

This is such a gorgeous glitter…and I hate glitter. I know I say it in practically every glitter post. I sound like my mother.

I love shiny things. I really do. I don’t know why I don’t like glitter polish. I think it’s the removal. I think I dislike it so much is the messiness of it all. However, I’ve found some cremes to be a total pain in the butt, though. I love red nail polish, but the staining on my skin, even when I use cuticle oil. Ugh. The staining!

Femme Couture – Mistletoe and Tinsel

Butter London – Marrow

Despite the creepy name, this color is gorgeous. This is the color of marrow when viewed under a microscope, but when extracted, it’s all red. I’m always amazed at what a small amount of bone marrow can do. If I remember correctly, when a friend’s mother got a bone marrow transplant, it took a mere 50 CCs to save her life – roughly a little under 3.5 Tablespoons. Amazing. But to get that it’s incredibly painful, so to the donor who saved my friend’s mother’s life all those years ago – thank you!

MAC – Jade Dragon

I know I’m behind on this. I’ve had these colors since August 2010. I don’t know what my problem is, but I feel like I don’t have enough polish to show everyday on my blog. Yet when I look in my drawer and cross reference my spreadsheet with postings I realize I’ve so many to put up here. I feel like a total hoarder. Wonder if they’d put me on the show? Haha. No, I don’t think I’d qualify.

Anyway, the color up for show today is Jade Dragon. It is part of MAC’s Nail Trend F/W 2010 collection.

I loved, yet loathed, this color. Why?

Chanel – Particulière

I had waited for this color, but one of my BFFs from college totally pulled through for me last year and purchased this in Paris for me…and through a series of foiled plans to get together, I finally got my grubby little paws on this bottle back in December.

The weather hadn’t been playing nice, but one day it did…and here is what I have for you.

Formula was fantastic – quick drying. I love cremes and this is no exception. No boo boo shimmer to mess this color up.

This color does not fail on delivery. I was truly surprised at how gorgeous this really was. I wore it for a few days and just marveled at the beauty. Marveled at how fabulous it looked on me. *weeps* If you can, run out and get this color because this is one of those Chanels that you will love to have in your collection ten years from now. That and Paradoxal. ;) I love Paradoxal…must get another bottle of it. I gave my back-up away, but no regrets because it went to a wonderful person!

OPI – Black Shatter, Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night and Not Like the Movies

I’m missing one of Katy Perry’s colors – The One That Got Away. I did buy it, I just totally forgot when I swatched. Ooops. My bad. I will do it by the end of the week.

This is one of the last collections I will show you from OPI. I’m not too keen on supporting indie companies that sell out. Good for OPI that they got $$, but bad for me because I won’t be purchasing new colors I see. Pity. Oh well. All the more money for other nail polish!

I think I will have to do a collection of OPI colors that were my favorites before they were purchased by Coty. This will be my eulogy, my obituary for them. Hm. I have to troll through my colors now! :) Yay.

Seven Things About Myself

  1. When I am not thinking about nail polish, I am thinking about gemstones and jewelry. I am thinking of ways to get a new design out there, even if it is through sketching.
  2. I love the Real Housewives franchise. I hate Jersey Shore. It makes me sad because I realize that it’s people within my age range that have raised these trash skank grotesque freaks on my tv. That is my hell. Jersey Shore playing on my tv 24/7 on every channel.
  3. I bake every Sunday. I need to bake on a Sunday because it prepares me for the week ahead. If I don’t bake, I feel totally disoriented until I do.
  4. I wish I had longer fingers and a bigger nail bed.
  5. I have more power tools than a girl really should…all so I can make my jewelry come to life.
  6. I have a cat that I am massively allergic to. I have a dog that makes me giggle because he’s so comical.
  7. My husband is pretty darn awesome – he is an avid amateur photographer who has a keen eye for capturing things I always miss. You can find him in my blog roll to the right if you’re interested. :) He’s also been immortalized in a video game (Command and Conquer’s Tiberian Sun) as the voice of the engineer…all because he’s Scottish.

China Glaze – Go Crazy Red
